Strong Like AK House - Mount Holly
The Strong Like AK House – Mount Holly was made possible through the generosity of our donors, sponsors, and community. Together, they helped bring our vision to life, creating a true home away from home for children and families traveling to Charlotte for childhood cancer treatment.
Opened in May 2025, the Mount Holly house reflects the power of community coming together to ensure families have a safe, welcoming place to rest, find comfort, and feel supported during an incredibly difficult season.
Strong Like AK House - Belmont
The Strong Like AK House – Belmont was made possible through a generous partnership with South Point Baptist Church, whose support helped bring this vision to life.
As the need for cost-free housing continued to grow, Strong Like AK opened a second house in late June 2025 to serve even more families traveling to Charlotte for childhood cancer treatment. Together, these homes provide a safe, welcoming place for families to rest and find comfort during an incredibly difficult season.
How to Request a Stay
If your family needs housing during your child’s treatment, we’re here to help.
Housing requests for the Strong Like AK House are coordinated through your child’s hospital social work team. If you believe your family may benefit from a stay, please speak with your social worker.

Once a referral is made, our team will connect directly with the social work team to review the request and begin the application process as quickly as possible.
Why Cost Free Housing Matters?
When families don’t have to worry about hotel costs or where they’ll sleep, they can focus their energy on their child and each other. Cost-free housing removes one heavy burden during an already overwhelming time.
This program exists in honor of Adam Kincaid and the support his family received, and it continues because of a caring community that believes no family should face childhood cancer alone.
