Strong Like AK: There Is No Place Like Home Gala

Join us for our first annual gala benefiting pediatric cancer patients and the Strong Like AK House. This exciting event is presented by Dilling Heating and Cooling and will be held on May 21, 2022 at the Gastonia Conference Center. The evening will include cocktails, dinner, silent auction, dueling pianos, and dancing. This year's theme, “There’s No Place Like Home,” centers around our mission to provide free housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Each year, thousands of pediatric cancer patients and their families travel from all over the world to Levine Children’s Hospital for life saving cancer treatments and clinical trials. The Strong Like AK House will allow families a safe, free, and private place to stay while their child is receiving cancer treatment or participating in clinical trials. There is a huge shortage of affordable housing options in and around Charlotte and parents are usually left making tough decisions on who can go and who has to stay behind.  We believe keeping families together while children are fighting cancer is of utmost importance. Although, there is truly no place like home, we hope the Strong Like AK house will be a “home-away-from-home,” where the entire family can have some sense of normalcy while fighting this dreadful disease.
